Update
The Chair and members of The All Party Parliamentary Group on for Better Roads (formerly the APPG for Highways) are sad to announce the death of long-standing member and former Vice Chairman, Viscount Simon.
We were fortunate to benefit from Viscount Simon’s expertise and insight acquired over his distinguished career and his perspicacious wisdom will be sorely missed. Our sincere condolences go to his family and friends at this time.
The All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Highways has been renamed the APPG for Better Roads to reflect its work in advocating the safety, environmental, social and economic cases for a properly maintained and sustainable network.
Due to the COVID-19 situation it has not yet been feasible to formally reform following the December 2019 General Election. The new group is set to be ratified in the new Parliament soon and will continued to be chaired by Sir Christopher Chope, MP for Christchurch.
